Epsilon Sleeves reinforced with self-fusing tape was developed with the assistance of POWER GRID CORPORATION of INDIA – the national transmission utility with 180,000 circuit-km lines and 280 substations. The specialized combination provides high-voltage insulation with quick tool-free installation eliminating the need for conductor disconnection or heat shrinking.
Made from high-grade silicone materials, the solution is now part of the POWERGRID Transmission Line construction manual for up to 765kV for the safely, reliability and ability to reduce failures even at 765 kV levels. While no insulating materials can viably provide true insulation on OHLs at voltages exceeding 66 kV, the safety extended by the solution is remarkable in its success. However, the sleeves and tapes do not and should not compensate for reducing clearances at the design stage or be used as a principle defence against human or animal safety.
Based on the Marx & Roser principle of dielectrics, reinforced sleeves help reduce outages due to conductor infringement at voltages substantially higher than of the dielectric material
Highly effective where infringement is caused by trees and shrubbery
In cases where clearance has reduced due to uncontrollable factors, sleeves enhance safety
Where clearance is reduced due to mountainsides or unauthorised building construction
Birds and animals often cause phase-to-ground outages with horrific consequences. Use reinforced sleeves or tapes to reduce animal risk.
Eliminates in-panel phase-to-ground failures at elevated moisture levels (recommended: Epsilon G4 RTV Coating for insulators)
Keep children and others safe with exceptionally higher insulation levels than conventional PVC tape
